What does it look like when sport, nature, and community come together in one place?
At Kopaonik this March, the answer is simple: energy, inclusion, and movement for everyone.
The 33rd Open Ski Festival “Sport for All”, organized by the Association Sport for All Serbia under the patronage of the Ministryof Sport of the Republic of Serbia, has officially been opened, marking the beginning of several days filled with recreational activities, learning opportunities, and shared experiences on one of the region’s most popular mountain destinations.
The opening ceremony brought together participants, organizers, and sport enthusiasts, setting the tone for an event that goes far beyond traditional winter sports. From the very start, the atmosphere reflected the core idea behind the Sport for All movement: participation over performance, and inclusion over exclusivity.
This long-standing festival continues to position itself as one of the key regional platforms promoting accessible sport and recreational activities for all generations .
Following the opening, participants engaged in a diverse and vibrant program combining both recreational and competitive elements. Activities include:
- alpine disciplines such as slalom and giant slalom,
- recreational sports like snow volleyball and tug-of-war, and
- and interactive formats designed to encourage participation regardless of skill level.

The festival also includes a ski school for beginners, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility and ensuring that even first-time participants can confidently take part in winter sports. Reports from the event highlight a particularly strong sense of community and positive energy, with participants actively engaging across all activities—from competitions to informal recreational sessions.
This combination of structured sport and spontaneous interaction is what makes the festival unique. It creates a space where beginners and experienced participants share the same environment, different generations connect through movement, and sport becomes a tool for social cohesion and well-being.
For Association, events like the Ski Festival at Kopaonik represent valuable examples of how the “Sport for All” concept can be successfully implemented in practice.

They demonstrate that sport can beinclusive and adaptable, recreational activities can be both fun and meaningful, and large-scale events can foster regional cooperation and knowledge exchange. Such initiatives are particularly important in today’s context, where promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles remains a shared regional priority.
While the festival is rooted in wintersport, its impact extends much further. It serves as a platform for networking among organizations, a space for sharing best practices, and a reminder that sport has the power to bring people together across borders.
By highlighting events like this, wecontinue to support the visibility and development of inclusive sport initiatives across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
